with each day that passes by
and still no call from you
i want to keep believing that
you've had too much to do.

i tell myself tomorrow
you'll find the time to phone
to let me know you just popped out
and now you're back at home.

we talked for hours on the phone
we covered all the years
about our childhood memories
that brought laughter and some tears.

you remembered many things
you had so much to say
but you forgot to tell me
that you had to go away.

you didn't leave a number
for the place that you would be
but if they give you messages

if our phone calls end now
because we have to part
